Hello! My name is Holly and I’m from Tynemouth in the North East of England, now calling Florence my home.

I first moved to bella Firenze in September 2018 as an Erasmus student, benefitting from the glory of living in an EU country before Brexit, learning Italian and having the right to work and study here visa-free. I then moved back to the UK in September 2019 to finish my studies at the University of Leeds (but then COVID hit and we all know how that’s going). I managed to move back to Florence in between lockdowns in July 2020 and navigate the infamous Italian bureaucracy to attain residency in December, just before the Brexit deadline. Phew!

I live in the wonderful neighbourhood of Santo Spirito in the Oltrarno area of Florence and pinch myself every day that this is my life. I feel so lucky to be able to live here in this beautiful city with the man that I love, experiencing la dolce vita (almost) every day.

Grazie for visiting my blog, I hope you enjoy!
